Signs on a one year deal with Coventry City.

After he had a spell with Burnley following his departure from us, he then went to play for Colchester United for a season featuring in 21 games scoring 4 goals.

Anyone feel that he could have done the job for us in League 1?

Would anyone have liked to see him back with us having one last chance?

he's not fulfiled the promise he showed early in his career, i thought he had done better than that at Colchester but i wouldn't have him back, he may get homesick again, poor lamb

On the right money (which you assume he would be now) yes, he's still young and had a couple of spells where he showed scoring potential. He was also picked by GB for the Olympic squad and acquitted himself well there.
It is a weird one with some players, you feel that they have talent and every manager must feel that they're the one to finally realise it.

He might have done the job for us in the Prem if that twat Coyle had actually played him after spending £4m on him.

No thanks,I'd rather take a risk with Madine- another season to see if he can hack it at a lower level

Seems to me that although he probably has the ability that his attitude is somehow suspect.

Think Michael Ricketts, Nile Ranger (just signed by Brown at Southend btw), Ravel Morrison, etc.

Another top signing from Owen though - clearly did a full scouting job first and certainly not a last minute panic buy at all.

He linked play really well at the Olympics but that role wasn't available to him with us as he was always understudy to SKD or pushed out wider. He needed to develop more physically too and that never happened, so I think his problem is that he won't get enough chances as an out-and-out target man because of his relatively small frame (and not being a natural striker) and other positions don't suit his abilities.

Showed glimpses of potential with us, remember when he went on a goal scoring run, bagged a brace at Sunderland in the cup and looked a good buy.

Sadly he's a bellend off the field

Get real. The ponce was "homesick".

Sordell defines "The Ponce Years".

Benik Afobe had a similar lacklustre spell at Bolton but he went on to produce the goods at MK Dons so I wonder if the management was to blame. Eddie Jones has proved in Rugby Union that a good manager will get results.

Which league are colchester in?  How many did madine get last season in the championship?

No. Sordell had a bad attitude from the day he walked in to the day he left. We need a strong squad spirit if we're to get back to the Championship and people like him are poisonous to that no matter how good they are individually.
