Phil Parkinson spoke to the club's website having seen his side enjoy the club's best ever start to a season for 82 years courtesy of a 2-1 victory over Fleetwood Town.

Trailing at the break, second half goals from Gary Madine and Josh Vela ensured Wanderers maintained their 100% start to the campaign against the Cod Army.

And speaking after the game, the manager covered the following points…

On his side’s comeback victory…
We played well in patches in the first half but their goal knocked us and we put the ball at risk in some dangerous areas. There was an edginess around the place but that is understandable.

We showed bravery to go out and play in the second half. You don’t get it all your own way in football and you’ve got to react to situations. The lads were very good in the second half and played a lot more positive in our play.

We didn’t put the ball at risk in and around our own penalty box. Our first look was forward and we got more crosses in.

All round, there was a more positive feel to us. The lads were magnificent in that second period and it’s a great win for us.

On Jamie Proctor and Zach Clough's injuries…
Zach's isn't not serious, he just felt a pop in his hamstring just lower down than he’s had it before. That’s how he described it and it is very frustrating because he is a key player and a goalscorer for us as well.

We lost Proccy today. We could have included but decided to be sensible with him, and then when we lost Zach as well, it takes away some of the ammunition.

On how his side responded to what was said to the team at half-time...
It was a test for us to go and show bravery to go and play. This is what the season is all about. Different challenges will be thrown our way and we wanted to come off the pitch at the end having shown courage to go and play.

Everyone was alive. They made angles for each other and were really positive in possession, which is exactly what we wanted them to do. We needed that calmness.

Things hadn’t gone all our own way in the first half. You’re not going to play great all the time though, and when you don’t you’ve got to respond which is what we did today.

On his midfielders continuing to deliver the goals…
We’ve had a number of goals coming from midfield in recent weeks, and Liam Trotter’s had another good chance today with a header as well.

I’m delighted for Josh. In this system we’re giving the two wide midfielders license to get forward into the box and they are relishing it. We’re really pleased with Josh and it’s an important goal for us.

On Kaiyne Woolery's introduction…
I thought Kaiyne Woolery did well in the second half. He did what we want him to do which is run in behind.

That’s his game and the team have got to understand that when he is on the pitch, he’s not a Zach Clough who’s going to come short and play it intricate.

He is a player who wants the ball put in behind opposition players and he has a quality that no other player has got in this squad. We’ve got sure we utilise that and I felt we did in the second period.

And finally, on what impressed him most…
I’m most pleased with the character. You can have good players but they have to play when the pressure is on.

There was a bit of pressure on us today but we responded very well and that’s a good sign for us.
