I've just spent 20 minutes trawling through the Wandering Minds archives, trying to find a thread I started a couple of years ago to herald the beginning of the NFL season.

But after 140+ pages, I got cramp in my hand and gave up, so I'm starting another one.

Anybody else looking forward to it?

Probably a(nother) season of moderately average highs, interspersed with reassuringly familiar disappointments for my beloved Redskins.

But it's still more fun than watching the Paralympics or arguing with Whittam.

HTTR.

How have blokes of your age (no offence) taken a shine to NFL. I doubt you've ever played it and it's only just starting to gain interest here in the uk

Been watching it since it was first broadcast on CH4 many years ago. Bread might remember the exact year it started.

1984 I think.

I remember being in the fourth year at school, so that'd be 84/85.

Pick a new team so we can take the piss.

Not from The Seahawks, Patriots, Panthers or Broncos though - Someone shit like me and Bonce follow.

Always have no chance, but been following them since I was in my teens watching NFL on Channel 4. Was hoping to get to a game but always end up in the US during the school holidays which is off season.

Cheese Heads not at Wembley this year so will have to wait, great show last night with Reggie Yates about GB.

Go pack Go!!!

The Skins are at Wembley this year but the sale of tickets is a massive con because you've got to commit to buying tickets for more than one game and it gets very expensive very quickly.

And there's a big part of me that would prefer to go and see a game in Landover rather than London anyway.

That might sound daft but it makes sense to me.

Not sure I'd fancy Lambeau in January though when it's about -30. Very Happy

I think the New York Punks will do ok this year, don't have much hope for the California Sea Cats though.

I feel about Baseball as I imagine your average Septic feels about cricket:

Boring, incomprehensible, pointless and too long.

(Bills and Pack both losing, by the way.....:-) )

Can we not have a chat box on here?

So the ones without Twitter don't miss out.
