Obviously its a touchy subject at the moment due to the hige lack of firepower we have, but......

......taking (should be) Sir Nat out of the equation who do you think are the best strikers we have had.

One of my favourites who i loved to watch was Anelka.  How we managed to sign him in the first place is beyond me but i suppose we did sort of reignite his career

Who else?

Tinned Toms - You know it makes sense!

John McGinlay will always be my favourite but there are quite a few that I've enjoyed watching over the years. Tony Philiskirk is my earliest memory of a striker for Bolton. Then off the top of my head there was Andy Walker, Nathan Blake, Mixu Paatelainen, Arnar Gunlaugsson, Ivan Klasnic, Dean Holdsworth (Villa miss aside), Fredi Bobic, Michael Ricketts, Nicolas Anelka, Kevin Davies, Daniel Sturridge. Even Fabian De Freitas has a place for me just based on the equaliser against Reading. I'm sure there are more but they're the ones that stand out to me, in my time at least.

Ability wise it's anelka all day long.

Loved Ricketts during his time here

A couple that have not been mentioned so far: Frank Worthington, Eidur Gudjohnsen and Neil Whatmore. Whatmore scored 121 goals for us (3 more than McGinlay).

The striker I loved to watch the most was Arnar Gunnlaugsson, for one season he was unstoppable even though he played more on the wing. Criminal that we let him go.

The most natural finisher I've ever seen in a Bolton shirt has to be Andy Walker.

44 goals in 67 games is a phenomenal return.

His partnership with McGinlay was incredible and if we had them now, we'd be up by Christmas.

Even at their present age they'd be better than the 2 we have now by a country mile.

McGinlays partnership with Andy Walker and then Nathan Blake were the best I've seen. Eidur was an amazing plyer for us as was SKD and Anelka but as a front two it would be McGinlay and Walker in the most exciting Wanderers team I've ever seen.

Walker. His strike rate was incredible. Would easily have another 30+ goals to his name if he hadn't got injured against Swansea (?) at home when Craig Brown came to watch him and subsequently missed the most of the following season.

Some nice goals from the vault here, including a couple of corkers from Super Bob Taylor.

Just a shame he was playing for West Brom at the time.

And of course,Neil Whatmore.

Aye, not forgetting David Jack. A goal every other game, first player to score at Wembley, first £10,000 plus transferred player. And, like Nat, from Bowton too.

Ones that stand out in my mind going back to when I started watching to present day are
Neil Whatmore, John Byrom, Frank Worthington, McGinley Walker, Anelka, SKD

I don't think Sir Nat's goals per game ratio for England will ever be beaten and I loved watching Worthy (although he only played 80 odd games for us) but my favourite was the much-maligned Francis Lee who scored every other game for us and could land on the penalty spot if tripped on the halfway line. A cheating, diving bastard but he was our cheating, diving bastard who happened to play in one of the greatest forward lines I've seen.
