This is the leader of the free world.

“Well, I’ve been reading about things,” Trump told Carlson. “I read in, I think it was January 20 a New York Times article where they were talking about wiretapping. There was an article, I think they used that exact term. I read other things. I watched your friend Bret Baier the day previous where he was talking about certain very complex sets of things happening, and wiretapping. I said, wait a minute, there’s a lot of wiretapping being talked about. I’ve been seeing a lot of things.”

Remember this from Trump's campaign to discredit Clinton?

"While Mr. Trump has spent the closing weeks of this campaign drawing huge crowds of Americans hungry for a common-sense change agent who will bring our jobs back and strengthen our borders, Crooked Hillary Clinton has been busy living in an alternate reality where her litany of email scandals and FBI investigations don’t disqualify her from running for President. On November 8th, the American people will wholly reject the premise of Hillary Clinton’s scandal-ridden campaign currently under investigation by the FBI and vote for the only candidate with a positive vision for our country.” Jason Miller, Senior Communications Advisor

Some proper scatter-gun deflection from the orange fuckwit on Twitter this morning.

Classic "Whataboutism":

Wonder who taught him that one....?

Now FBI Director says there is no evidence of Obama wire tapping Trump and that Trump should retract his claim immediately.
Also asks to be allowed to get on with the Russian enquiry without interference from the White House.

NB: Chuck Shumer is no fan of Trump !

...and Comey's now just refused to endorse Clapper's comment that there's no proof of collusion between the Kremlin and Trump.

So, by inference......

I've no love of Politicians but at least they have learnt the art of tact and diplomacy (most of the time anyway). This is what happens when you have a man who doesn't hear the word no from anyone because he's a big businessman and throw him straight into the biggest Political job in the Western world.

Why is he still using Twitter as well? Surely he can see how bad it looks?

The sticking point with all this is though, that Trump really isn't the problem here; Bannon is.

He's the real power behind the throne and Trump is just a tool to get the job done.

The "Alt Right" needed a populist who could appeal to the vast swathes of the 'Murican electorate who are too fucking stupid to think for themselves, racist, god-fearing, Muslim-hating, knobrots and get them out voting.

These people don't normally vote and there are millions of them.

Bannon needed to get them off their arses and down to the polling stations, so he used Trump to achieve it.

And it worked.

And while we're all getting worked up about Trump tweeting and playing golf every bastard weekend, Bannon is quietly going about destabilising the system in Washington.

So unless we get proof that Bannon and the rest of the shady fuckers lurking behind the scenes were also in cahoots with the Kremlin, nothing will really change.

And if Trump does go, we'll be stuck with Pence and he's even more scary because (unlike the orange fuckwit) he's got half a brain.

If Trump bites the dust,I don't believe Bannon and Pence will have a leg to stand on.

The stone is slowly being lifted. Watch them all scuttle back into the darkness.

Boris Johnson will meet key White House figures including the US president’s most powerful aide, Steve Bannon, during a trip to the US this week, the Guardian understands.

Would love to be a fly on the wall.

JOB AD.

Head of Trump Betting
CMO Dublin Full Time
Head of Trump Betting

Reports to: Paddy Power
Location: Dublin (Clonskeagh)
3 Month Contract

Role purpose:
We want to make American politics great again. Because, let’s face it, there’s no chance Trump will.

Following the huge demand on the back of the 2016 US Presidential Elections, we are looking for a Head of Trump Betting to manage our newly launched ‘hub’ of specials around the President. We’re looking for a marriage of more convenience than Donald’s to Melania.

With more than 100 special bets online, the successful candidate will monitor and manage existing Trump markets while devising new specials to launch. They will also need to build a wall around the hub to ensure foreign bets don’t get in.

You must combine a passion for the topical news agenda with a keen interest in US Politics and an ability to think outside the box. Mind you, any suggestions to pay out early on an Election will be shot down faster than a good journalist asking Trump a difficult question.

The BAU elements of the role will be odds compilation, in-play trading and sending round the most bats**t Trump quotes for the whole company to laugh at.

Accountabilities:
• Being all over the news agenda to ensure that we don’t get caught out on a high profile market. For example, we wouldn’t want to be odds-on for the UK to vote Remain in a referendum. Again. That was a yuge mistake.
• Being able to harness high volumes of data using real-time Trading applications in a high-pressure environment when timing will always be of the essence. Or, failing that, an ability to make something up on the spot and stand by it resolutely, shouting down anyone that disagrees.
• Consistency in keeping up with Trump’s press conferences, statements, tweets and general idiocy. It requires a hardy soul to be able to watch more than ten minutes of the President in action without wanting to punch oneself in the face.

Competencies and experience
Behavioural Competencies:
• Ability to work as part of a team with multiple stakeholders.
• Substantial experience with fake tan is preferable.
• Have one of the greatest job interviews of all time and come across very well, thank you.
• Be more liberal towards exclamation marks and capital letters than minorities.
• Ability to detect Fake News.
• Full medical history required. Well, we don’t want you doing a Hillary on us.

Technical Competencies:
• Excellent betting knowledge
• Aptitude at Excel and wrestling techniques a distinct advantage.
• Awareness of national security situation in Sweden beneficial.
• Better understanding of global politics than Donald Trump. Which won’t exclude many.

Education, Qualifications & Experience:
• Being multi-lingual is a distinct advantage – particularly if you specialise in decoding Trumpisms.
• Ideal candidate would have a good knowledge of which one’s Melania and which one’s Ivanka.

In February 2016, Paddy Power and Betfair merged to form one of the largest online betting operators in the world: Paddy Power Betfair plc. The merger propelled the enlarged group into the FTSE 50.

I thought Trump's treatment of Angela Merkin at her White House visit was appalling. Whatever his personal opinion of her and her policies he should have put that aside as she was a guest in the USA and he should have shown her due deference. By totally ignoring her he showed himself to be crass, ignorant, arrogant and rude.
