Have you noticed 'smell of rotten chicken' in Bolton town centre?

There were reports of a 'smell of rotten chicken' in the town centre on Friday morning.

A businessman said he first caught a whiff of the unusual smell in Bolton last week but the stench had got worse today and he had reported it to the Environment Agency.

The man, who did not wish to be named, said: "Why does the town centre smell of rotten chicken?

“It is near where the new bus station is and down Thynne Street and Newport Street.

“It is horrendous. Last week when I was coming in to work I could smell it then but now it has got even worse.”

Bolton Council has been contacted.

Maybe these two have risen again?

A knocked kneed Chicken and a Bow legged hen,
I've never been as happy as I don't know when,
We walk with a waddle and talk with a squawk,
Doing the Bolton (Town centre) walk!

(Anybody have a clue of what the hell I'm going on about?).

Very Happy

Ain't got a clue what you are talking  about. The smell of rotten chicken is obviously coming from the halal chicken killing factory

The little ditty above was sang on the terraces of Burnden during the 'hooligan' era of the early 1970's.

In the last line the words were 'boot' walk (as in boot boys), not 'Town centre'.
