Bolton host Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow night in the second round of the Carabao Cup.

Will Phil Parkinson use this game to experiment with team selection and formation perhaps due to our dismal start to our Championship campaign?

Will we get a good spanking from The Owls?

If you fancy tuning in tomorrow night to share the pain with the rest of us then Radio Nuts will be available from 7pm!

Ref watch: David Webb to take the whistle for Sheffield Wednesday cup clash

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

David Webb will oversee Wanderers’ Carabao Cup clash with Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday night.

Taking charge of his first Football League fixture in August 2008, the Lancashire based referee has previously officiated six Whites fixtures including three last season - the most recent being Bolton's away trip to Scunthorpe United back in April.

Mr Webb has taken charge of four games so far this term, brandishing 13 yellows and zero red cards after dishing out 119 cautions and three red cards from 45 outings in 2016/17.

Neil Sharp and Kevin Mulraine will run the line tonight, while Richard Clark is the fourth official.

The margin of defeat depends solely on how many kids Sheffield Wednesday pick.

0-3.

This has to be the perfect opportunity to experiment, but I can't see Parky going for anything but hoofball.

Not sure we have players who can do anything other than hoof it though. A better formation and some tactics would be in order though to start things off......i.e. don't play three center backs for starters.

Great result tonight, 3-2 winners.  Was 3-0 up, apparantly their subs changed the game.  Both managers sent to the stands too.  Hope we get a big team in the next round.  The players selected today will hopefully have given Parky food for thought

Hope we get Spurs away in the next round, only chance we'll have of getting to Wembley.

Good performances last night from Robinson, Wilbraham and Derik who all must be pushing for a first team place, Buckley was also worth a mention.

In the first half our midfield looked strong, we where challenging for the ball and making the most of the fullbacks who where pushing on Derik was especially good with some great challenges and passing, probably the best I have seen him play. Robinson did especially well, he was direct and looked to run with the ball and commit players.

Wilbraham was able to win the ball and keep it rather than flicking it into space where there was no support.

Game changed in the second half when we brought Morais on and tried to play him central, he looked lost and out of position and that combined with the Wednesday subs meant we lost the midfield battle and hence the late comeback.

Good win, and hopefully some lessons learned, think Cullen needs to be dropped for Derik next game.

Derik deserves a start as the holding midfielder i think, let's hope Parky can see it as well

He won't see it. It'll be the usual suspects on Friday doing the usual suspect things.

Highlights here,

I don't know how they didn't score in the goalmouth scramble when it was 1 nil. And TBH we did give them plenty of chances so it could easily have gone against us. But it didn't so we're still in it and the Owls ain't.
