Certain defeat.

Certain annihilation.

Will we have a shot on target?

Definitely need to try something different.

I don't think we'd score goals with Madine up front on his own against a side with no keeper.

ALF has been a let down for sure but he's got the best bit of goalscoring ability throughout the squad.

Let's try a simple 4-4-2.

I think Parky will continue to :flog: seeing he was so pleased with progress against Sheff U.

The last 4 times I've been to the Ipswich away game we've lost 1 nil, 1 nil, 1 nil and most recently 2 nil so the trend would suggest another 2 nil defeat. I'll be absolutely delighted if we get anything at all out of this one but they're playing well and currently lie 7th with a game in hand on all the teams above them - a real promotion contender.

No confidence at all. Possibly as bad as 4-0 this time with the bed sheets beginning to be dusted off.

Preview: Five talking points ahead of Ipswich Town v Bolton Wanderers

With Wanderers making the journey to Ipswich Town on Saturday afternoon, bwfc.co.uk highlights five talking points ahead of the Whites' Sky Bet Championship clash with the Tractor Boys.

1. Longest trip of the season

Saturday sees the Whites make their longest journey of the league campaign, with the team and fans set to travel 244 miles each way, culminating in an almost 500-mile round-trip.

They have already completed one of the second longest in the form of Millwall (229 miles), with the same distance yet to come with our game against Norwich City on February 24.

Wanderers have drawn two and lost one of their three away fixtures in the Sky Bet Championship so far this term though and will be hoping to break their duck on the road this weekend, in turn making the miles worthwhile.

2. First game post Embargo

Ken Anderson broke the news earlier this week that Bolton are now out of the transfer embargo. The Chairman also confirmed that he will be looking to register both Jeff King and Alex Perry for the first team.

If registered in time the duo could be involved against Ipswich Town this weekend. The news will also give both the fans and the players a boost ahead of the trip south.

3. Pay on the day at Portman Road

Fans will be able to purchase tickets for this Saturday’s game at Portman Road. Kicking off at 3pm, supporters wishing to purchase tickets on the day can do so on a cash only basis from turnstiles 10 and 11 at Portman Road.

Prices are as follows;

Adults - £25
Over 65s - £22
Under 23s - £15
Under 19s - £8.

4. Injury issues

Going into this weekend’s tie with Ipswich, Phil Parkinson’s has been hit with a number of injury woes. Derik Osede and Will Buckley are the most recent absentees with Josh Vela and Sammy Ameobi also unavailable this weekend.

With the quartet in the treatment room, Ipswich will provide those coming into the side to replace them with a point to prove.

5. First league win of the campaign

Although they have tasted victory twice in the Carabao Cup, Phil Parkinson’s men are still searching for their first win in the Sky Bet Championship this term.

With a trip to West Ham to come in the cup this coming Tuesday too, it will no doubt be a testing couple of days for the Whites.

But with Ipswich having lost their last three games in all competitions, Wanderers will be hoping to take advantage of their lull in form and pick up their first maximum points of the league campaign come 5pm Saturday.

So Whittam....fancy meeting up for a pint at the Bridge before the match tomorrow?
I assume you'll be attending as it's only the same distance for you as the one you slag me off for not making every other week. Happy to buy you a Voddie Malibu or two.....
