BURTON Albion assistant Andy Garner reckons his side were helped by a frustrated atmosphere at the Macron Stadium on Saturday.
The mood around the ground was audibly different once Lloyd Dyer had put the Brewers ahead midway through the first half, with boos ringing around the stands at both half time and full time.
“The Bolton fans came here expecting to beat Burton Albion, it’s as simple as that,” said Garner, whose side climb a point above Wanderers into 22nd position in the Championship. “Maybe they were thinking they would be clear of the bottom three by quarter to five.

“Once that goal goes in you could hear them get a little bit frustrated. The atmosphere changed and they started putting that bit of extra pressure on the players.
“Sometimes the players can’t lift themselves, so it was vital to get that first goal.”
Garner also had praise for golden oldie Dyer, who netted his fourth career goal against Bolton in eight games.
“I just had a laugh with him there, he stepped out of the shower and his body is absolutely immaculate,” he said. “When we signed him he said you won’t get a fitter 35-year-old than me, and I think he’s right.”
