Anybody else watching the winter Olympics. I watched a bit of snow boarding today and couldn't make head nor tail of it.
Is it making anyone else get over excited? When does it finish?

Some bits of it are quite good.

I like the ones where they compete together such as the speed skating (come on Ellie Christie I really want her to win gold this time) and the skiing when they race down the course at the same time.

I've been hooked on curling too in the past when we've been hunting gold but it can be a bit slow otherwise.

Up to now I've watched the 6 minute clips of the previous days highlights - that's about how interesting it as got for me so far.

I love a good curl myself. nothing more satisfying.

I have no interest in the winter olympics and will not be watching any of it.

If they had some thin ice on some of the rinks, the prospect of someone falling through it might get my attention.
They could also mark a huge dart board on the curling rink, and turn it into ice darts.

Thought the women's slopestyle final was ridiculous. The wind was far too strong and I'm surprised there weren't more injuries.
Begs the question why they chose Korea as the venue seeing as it gets next to no snow (all artificial at these games) and the prevailing wind comes straight from Siberia so it's bitterly cold.

Poor Elise Christie robbed of yet another medal.

My heart goes out to her.

Come on girl two more chances, I'm sure you will do it.

The woman that went on to win the silver actually took her out (knocked her balancing hand out from under her) - it's clear from the slow motion replays.

There's no right of appeal and the judges didn't spot it (presumably because they were busy disqualifying one of the home town Korean women from silver).

It's harsh however those are the rules - but Elise should have been on the podium.

She has two more chances of getting a medal yet - so fingers crossed for her.

I'd take the lot of them out. To be fair, there are very fine margins in that type of sport.

Glory and disaster are close bedfellows.

Seems to be a bit of a funny story over the Jamaican ladies bobsleigh team.

It seems their coach has quit and that as she owns the bobsleigh she's taking it home with her!

Some snow boarder has broke their neck today so that might be worth a watch.

Parsons gets an unlikely bronze in the men''s skeleton. Great event albeit strictly for nutters.

This is why much of the Winter Olympics is a farce.

You'd think that British bloke who won bronze had just won 100m gold the way he's being celebrated in this country.

He sledged down a hill on a tea tray. How many other plonkers are sledging down hills on tea trays? 15, 20 people maybe in the whole world? So he's 3rd best of those 20 people. Big deal.

Is this bloke getting any taxpayer money, because if he is it's a fucking travesty.

Yeah. It's the head first on a tea tray down a tube at 80 odd mph trying not to touch the sides by steering with their shoulders event. Went to bed after Round 3 as I was flagging, but caught the last run here.
