Leeds in the seventies were one of the biggest clubs in England and the best team i ever saw live.
If we got bought by sheikhs and bought the title and every best player in the world would we be?

Its cyclical. We will be a big club again, but I doubt I'll be alive when it happens. Only those with a large fan base have been able to stay at, or near, the top. the rest of us have to rely on form, finance, and dedicated fans. As we've seen, when not all three are in sync, we suffer.

But then got relegated in 1981/82 and were not promoted until the 1990s.

This is not what big clubs do, they get promoted within a few seasons at the most.

The only massive clubs relegated in living memory were Man Utd and Tottenham who both spent one season out

All 'if's' and 'but's' I know but if we could win on Tuesday we would go in front of Reading.

They are now only two points above us and we have the Cardiff game in hand of them.

They are on a very bad run and I think we can finish above them by the end of the season.

Fingers crossed anyway.

I'd say we are one of the inform teams out of the bottom lot. I reckon we will be safe.

Will one of you clever people with time on their hands do a league table for the last 10 games( or since January 1st) and that will show us who the in form teams are and who is sliding down the slippery slope to league 1. I bet we are in the top half of the table. I'd do it but I've got too much work to do today and tomorrow.

Impressive stuff LT- I didn't know this existed. Some people must have a lot of time on their hands. I bet its the bookies!!

But we seem to be doing well.

They definitely did do it for me as the stains on my armchair will testify.

Really don't think we should lose sight of the fact that we are 2 points out of the relegation zone. Don't want to sound like a wet blanket but the players need to know they are in a dogfight and as good as this table makes us look, all we have achieved is to get back into the race - so to survive they have to do it all over again. Hopefully they will.

If we win at QPR all the pressure is on Sunderland to get a result from the match rather than us.
A defeat by us would put them a minimum 7 points behind us in that scenario which would be a disaster for them
