Wanderers shelled out less for agents in the last 12 months than any other Championship club.

A report from the EFL stated the Whites paid just £223,432 for agents and player intermediaries, spread over 18 separate deals between January 2017 and February of this year.

Wanderers have not paid a cash fee for a player since January 2015 – but gained promotion from League One at the first time of asking under Phil Parkinson having signed more than a dozen players on free transfers and loans.

Aston Villa – who dropped out of the Premier League last season - spent more than any other club in the time period, at £5.5m, followed by another relegated club, Sunderland, who paid just over £4.3m.

Wolves, who have lead from the front in the Championship for most of the campaign, paid out just over £2m in agents’ fees.

Two of the payments made by Wanderers were in deals involving Filipe Morais – both when the winger signed initially at the start of February 2017 and again in the summer.

Another two payments were made to the representative of Reece Burke for his two separate loan spells from West Ham United.

Other deals which involved fees were for Reece Wabara, Adam Le Fondre, Andy Taylor, David Wheater, Dorian Dervite, Gary Madine, Jem Karacan, Mark Little, Stephen Darby, Will Buckley, Adam Armstrong, Sammy Ameobi, Aaron Wilbraham and Karl Henry.

I've not seen any evidence of LA receiving fees for transfers, however...
These fees are paid to the player's agents, so it begs the question of whether or not Lee Anderson is on the BWFC payroll because if he is and he conducted the negotiations on behalf of BWFC, his payments would appear elsewhere in the accounts e.g. under salaries and therefore would be excluded from these figures.
We would expect transfer related costs to drop substantially anyway when operating on a tight budget as it's common practice to take a percentage rather than a flat fee, but even taking all that into consideration looks like they've done a reasonable job of keeping costs down - providing LA isn't being paid a shedload behind the scenes (i.e. elsewhere in the accounts) or is being promised a wodge when KA sells up which would push the selling price up. We just don't know yet.
