Wanderers will have to play their Development League final away from the Macron Stadium... Because they lost the toss of a coin.

David Lee’s side had booked a home semi-final against Charlton because they finished top of the league in the regular season. After winning the game 3-1 they were informed they had lost the toss of a coin made by Premier League officials - and would play Nottingham Forest at the City Ground tomorrow night.

“If you win the league you play at home, you get that advantage, but when it comes to the final, they literally say in the Premier League it’s a toss of a coin,” Lee explained.

“We had no evidence of it, but we’re away from home. I suppose from our perspective it’s a final, it is irrelevant. We’ll enjoy it and give it our all.”

Forest beat Crystal Palace 1-0 in extra time to book their place in the final and Lee is confident they will handle the quick turnaround.

“To the lads, they’d go to the other end of the world to play a final,” he said.

“We have done the first part of the job, so we have to regroup and prepare for Nottingham Forest. The lads are fit, strong and we’ve no knocks so I have got no doubt they will be ready for the game.”
