JIMMY Phillips could be another high-profile casualty of the impending changes at Wanderers.
It is understood the academy director, Bolton man and boy, is at the end of his current contract and unsure whether he will still be with the club next season.
Phillips, who has been the figurehead of the club’s youth system for a decade, signed a new contract on reduced terms under previous ownership following Wanderers’ relegation from the Premier League in 2012.
But sources suggest the 52-year-old is now having to explore his options as no guarantees are currently being given that he will continue in his current role.

Phil Parkinson and his first team coaching staff find themselves in a similarly uncertain situation while owner and chairman Ken Anderson continues to seek investment – and a possible buyer – for the club this summer.
The news comes in the same season Wanderers’ academy was ranked most productive in all the 72 EFL clubs, and second out of 92 Premier League and EFL clubs.
A revamp had been mooted by Anderson in March as the club looks to continue a successful conveyor belt which has produced the likes of Josh Vela, Zach Clough, Rob Holding and Jake Turner in the last few years.
There has been success on the field, too. Bolton’s Under-23s lifted the league and play-off title this season under the stewardship of David Lee, while Nicky Spooner’s Under-18s finished second in the league, and were beaten in the play-off semi-finals.

Phillips – himself a home-grown talent from the Burnden Park days - made more than 300 appearances for the club in two stints, also representing Glasgow Rangers, Oxford United and Middlesbrough.
After hanging up his boots he had a spell as youth coach before taking on the role of overseeing the Eddie Davies Academy in 2008.
He has also twice answered the club’s call to manage the first team on a caretaker basis in the Championship, following the departures of Owen Coyle in 2012 and Neil Lennon in 2016.
