I don't know much about this fella but apparantly we tried signing him when he was at Rangers for £400.000.

He is now a free agent after being released by the club so is he worth a punt on freebie?

Well he's young, he's Scottish and he doesn't score many goals so I guess Coyle will try to sign him up.

I was thinking about this when I heard the news that the Huns are having to cut their wage bill. I think Wylde is a decent winger and I'd probably prefer him to Petrov as he seems to consistently deliver decent balls, but we have Ryo until the end of the season and then Lee will be back so I was thinking he'd be a good squad player at the right price. Problem is we have a shedload of squad players.

Still I wouldn't mind too much if he joined us - if only to have the final word over Ally McCoist who put the kibosh on the original deal by promising him a full and wonderful career at Rangers.

Considering Ryo leaves in the summer and most likely Petrov as well, we should snap him up now since he is available.

Technically he was under contract when the window was shut so can not play for any British club until the next window.

However I think FIFA (or is it UEFA?) can waive this due to his circumstances?

I didn't expect him to be able to play for this season if signed - we have already submitted the list of players we will use for the end of season. I don't know that we can make further additions at this point.

It'll be interesting to see what happens if OC is still keen however as he is now "out of contract" and a free agent I would have thought that it wouldn't be an issue as free agents can be signed at any time.

If he is under 21 then I don't think he needs to be registered as such, could be wrong but I am sure thats how it works.

As he is under 21 he wouldn't have to be registered. We could sign him depending on how his contract was ended, redundancy we could, him cancelling his contract we can't.

A player who can't produce regularly in the Scotish Premier League won't cut it in English football above League 1.

This would be a complete waste of money.

Not if they were still under contract when the transfer window shut.

I'm fairly sure though that redundancy is an exception to this rule.

He waived redundancy, mind you.

He waived his redundancy payment - he left as a voluntary redundancy.

Fair play to him though.

He wants to play premiership football next season, so you can hardly blame him

We don't even know if he has been contacted anyway - in any case, Coyle out!

Possible move for the youngster on the cards?

"At this moment in time as we sit here I have not spoken to anybody regarding Gregg, whether it be his representatives or anybody else, so that's where we are at the moment.

"Whether that changes, who knows? So I think time will tell on that one."
