One of the biggest towns in England, if not the biggest, will we ever become a City?

Could you imagine ' Welcome to the City of Bolton'.

It could do with a makeover, but if we get the City bollocks, it could give the money to pile drive the new look.

I dont see the attraction in being a city. I prefer being from a town in Lancashire rather than a city in greater manchester

The thing is we need to move away from Greater Manchester and have our signs put back to Lancashire, this should have never happened IMO.

Dear me, you really are one sad man.

It was a sad day when we were denied city status and Blackburn was granted it. Blackburn has a cathedral - the main, but not exclusive criterion - but Bolton is in the pocket of Manchester City Council and after the boundary changes and collective procurement deals we were never going to get it.
