Manager Phil Parkinson spoke to bwfc.co.uk following the club’s activity on Wednesday’s transfer window deadline day.

The latter stages of Wednesday evening saw the club bring five new players to Macron Stadium in the form of James Henry, Ben Alnwick, Sammy Ameobi, Tom Thorpe and Keshi Anderson, while Tom Walker, Conor Wilkinson and Kaiyne Woolery departed in both loans and permanent moves.

And reflecting upon the club’s exploits on the day itself, Parkinson said, “I’m very pleased with the transfer activity yesterday – it was a very busy day and I’d like to thank everyone for their efforts behind the scenes.

“The team behind the team is so important at any football club and we are pleased with the business we managed to get done.

“Now, it’s a case of bedding those players into the squad and we look forward to working with all of them in the coming months and getting to know them all better.”

He continued: “There was more activity than we originally anticipated but with the recent injuries we’ve had, it was obviously needed.

“There were also a number of players who left us in loan spells or permanent moves and we wish them all the best.

“Now the transfer window is out of the way though, we start looking at a period of focus where we will work with the players that we have got and look to keep our good run of form going.”
