We need a win please.

Ill be there today.  6th match this season and im probably going to jinx us now but we havent lost when ive been.

3-1 with Le Fondre getting his first for us (just to make norpig happy)

A scrappy 1-1 draw

I've given up on guessing what kind of a performance I'm going to see,but I'm hoping we'll win it by two clear goals.
Can't see us keeping a clean sheet though,and the number of times we've scored more than two goals can be counted on the fingers of one hand.

Quick question if anyone can help.  Can i upgrade a childs season ticket to an adult one at the ticket office?

Preview: Five talking points ahead of Bolton Wanderers v AFC Wimbledon

1. Final Five


This week Bolton Wanderers have been running the Final Five promotion. The offer gives Whites fans the chance to watch the remaining five home games for just £15 per match.

2. Formation

In our last two games, Phil Parkinson has opted to play two different formations. Going into the Sheffield United game the gaffer stuck with the 3-5-2 system allowing wingbacks Dean Moxey and Filipe Morais to provide the width.

On Tuesday night Bolton started in the 4-2-3-1 formation with Chris Long playing as the lone striker with support behind offered by Josh Vela, James Henry and Filipe Morais.

It’s clear Parkinson trusts his side to play in different shapes and formations so how will we line up come 3pm?

3. First goal for Adam Le Fondre


Since his return to BL6, Adam Le Fondre is yet to find the back of the net.

With Chris Long out suspended it could the returning Le Fondre the chance to make an impact on the side and push Wanderers towards and automatic promotion spot.

4. Gary Madine & Tom Thorpe

Two players who have missed out recently are Tom Thorpe and Gary Madine, both of which have trained ahead of the weekend’s game.

Thorpe was forced to sit out Tuesday’s draw with Bristol Rovers after being on the receiving end of a tough challenge by Sheffield United’s John Fleck last weekend, whilst Madine has been suffering from a virus for the past week.

With Chris Long suspended however and Jay Spearing currently awaiting results on a knee injury, both could very well return to the fray this weekend.


5.Double over Wimbledon

Wanderers head into this weekend’s encounter having already defeated their opponents from the Cherry Red Records Stadium earlier in the season and will no doubt be eager to complete a league double over the Dons come Saturday afternoon.

In the club’s first away fixture of the current campaign, goals from Gary Madine and Liam Trotter ensured that Bolton overturned a one-goal deficit at Kingsmeadow back on August 13.

A result which marked the Whites’ first away win in almost 500 days, it was certainly a catalyst for brighter times on the road with Phil Parkinson’s side having secured six victories on the road so far this term.

I thought that they only did that for midweek games due to the time the games finish?

Nope.  They did it for us but it was 19 quid.  Spent 40 quid already and my ticket was a freebie

We can forget a top two place and automatic promotion.

It's going to be a play-off place at best.

Sadly that is the reality of our situation.

If, and it's a big if we do make the playoffs, I can't see us getting past the semi finals.

Report: Bolton 1-1 AFC Wimbledon

IN BRIEF


Wanderers were forced to settle for a point against AFC Wimbledon at Macron Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Returning to the starting line-up following a lay-off through illness, Gary Madine broke the deadlock with 15 minutes on the clock with a diving header from a corner kick that gave James O’Shea no chance.

The Dons were level with seven minutes of the first half remaining however courtesy of Tom Elliott’s header with the scoreline remaining the same come full time.

TEAM NEWS

Ben Alnwick returned between the sticks for Wanderers, while Gary Madine and Tom Thorpe were also included from the off after being forced onto the sidelines in recent weeks.

FIRST HALF

Wanderers, forced to attack against the North Stand for the first period unusually, started brightly and almost had the opener inside three minutes as James Shea somehow denied David Wheater’s header from close range.

It was certainly an impressive showing from the Whites early on, with the Dons struggling to keep tabs on Phil Parkinson’s men inside the opening stages.

The visitors were keen to make their own mark on the game however, although their forays into Bolton territory weren’t of much note.

With 15 minutes on the clock however, the deadlock was broken and it was Madine with the effort, powering home a diving header from a Filipe Morais corner for his ninth of the season.

Deserved on Wanderers’ part, they continued in a similar vein following their opener with them visibly not happy to settle for the one goal.

Despite Bolton’s dominance however, Wimbledon were almost level just before the half hour mark as George Francomb saw an effort inside the box blocked at the death with nobody able to turn the ball home as it pinged around in the area.

It was certainly a more open game inside the last 15 minutes of the half than it had been in the first quarter-hour, but the Trotters were dealing with any pressure that came their way with ease.

With seven minutes of the half remaining however, the visitors were level against the run of play as Elliott headed home from a Francomb cross past Ben Alnwick.

Visibly boosted by their leveller, Wimbledon proceeded to throw men forward inside the closing stages of the first period with Dominic Poleon scuffing an effort inside the 18-yard box soon after.

Come the half time whistle however, the scores were level.

SECOND HALF

With no changes for either side at the break, proceedings got back underway.

And Bolton almost retook the lead courtesy of a Morais free-kick from 25 yards, only to see his effort tipped onto the post somehow by Shea.

Wanderers were in the ascendancy, while Thorpe saw a snap-shot flash agonisingly wide of the post in the 50th minute and Le Fondre drilled the ball down the throat of Shea on the counter.

It was pretty much one way traffic for the most part come the hour mark, with Wimbledon having to be on their guard.

Shortly after meanwhile, Bolton made their first change with James Henry replacing Thorpe.

And two chances went begging for the Whites in the minutes that followed, with nobody able to turn the ball home inside the six yard box while Shea’s palms were stung by a Morais curled effort which he gathered at the second attempt.

Bolton were knocking on the door, although Will Nightingale did squander a glorious chance for the Dons with his header from an unmarked position from eight yards out.

With the final ten minutes of the game looming, it was all hands to the pump for Wanderers while Morais somehow put the ball over from ten yards after great work from Vela.

Henry was next to try his luck, only to see his drive from the edge of the box fly just wide of the post.

With three minutes of additional time indicated, it was now or never for Bolton, but they just couldn't find a winner as the game came to its conclusion with the spoils shared.

I'm still in bloody Leigh. Morais should have won it for us at the death. We're tailing off badly.

I'm beginning to get this shitty feeling again that it's all going to go completely wrong this season now.

Jay Spearing did the Golden Gamble draw at half time. Not much else to say.
