Wanderers will complete their pre-season schedule with a two-game training camp on the East coast of Scotland.

The Whites have confirmed they will meet last season’s Scottish League Two champions Arbroath on July 11.

And it is predicted a second friendly will take place against higher league opposition on Saturday, July 15.

Phil Parkinson will take his side north of the border looking to pull off the same success he managed in Scandinavia 12 months ago.

In total, seven first team friendlies are expected to be confirmed starting with Chorley on July 8, followed by the Scotland trip and games at AFC Fylde on July 18, Fleetwood on July 22 and Stockport County on July 25 before Premier League Stoke come to the Macron on July 29.

Speaking to The Bolton News, the Whites boss said he was pleased with the opponents he had thus far manager to secure in pre-season.

“But by bit we’ll be raising the intensity and the standard of opposition, from the Chorley game right at the very beginning towards the Stoke game the week before the season starts,” he said.

“It’s always an important time to get your news signings in and integrated with the group. The attitude was just right last year and I want it to be the same again this summer.”

Meanwhile, Rotherham United aim to step up their pursuit of Wanderers striker Jamie Proctor, according to sources in South Yorkshire.

The Millers have tabled a bid for the 25-year-old, who spent the end of last season on loan at Carlisle United, and are being rivalled for his signature by Doncaster Rovers and at least one more as-yet-unnamed League One club.

Wanderers will host Leeds United on the opening day of the season and new Elland Road boss Thomas Christiansen has vowed his players will be ready to hit the ground running.

“Bolton away will be a tough start to the season,” he said. “From the moment our players start training on Monday we will have our sights on August 6.”
