60 years ago today ATV broadcast the first ever match Blackpool 0 v Bolton 1 (Freddie Hill)
Didn’t really know what they were doing as they put the camera at one end of Bloomfield Rd so the quality was shit.
Moreover the crowd was down so the next match due to be broadcast was Arsenal and the gunners withdrew permission and ATV dropped the programme.
It was 25 years until football league matches were shown again.
