Wanderers will have Peter Kioso and Andrew Tutte back in the squad to face Carlisle United on Boxing Day.

Ian Evatt has confirmed that both players will be back in his thinking for the trip to Brunton Park.

Kioso has missed the last two games with a shoulder injury while midfielder, Tutte, has not played since November 28 after damaging a thigh muscle against Southend United.

Arthur Gnahoua could be back in in early January after a dislocated shoulder sustained at Walsall earlier this month.

“He is back on the grass but probably two or three weeks behind where Peter (Kioso) is at the moment,” Evatt confirmed.

There is bad news, however, for young defender, Liam Edwards, who will require further surgery on his kneecap before returning to training again.

The centre-half has not featured since last January after a training ground collision left him with a fractured kneecap.

He returned to light training duties several weeks ago but Evatt revealed he will have to wait for a small operation before being able to step up his workload.

“He has been the victim of Covid, to be honest, but not because he has the virus,” the manager said. “Basically, where they have put the plate and the screw into his knee, part of the screw needs to be removed because it has been rubbing on his ligament and causing some discomfort.

“That has been the case since the start of December but we can’t get him in for his operation until mid-January because of the pandemic.

“Unfortunately for him he’s sitting on his hands for six weeks waiting for an operation before he can progress.”
