Kieran Lee should be back in contention for Saturday’s game against Stevenage after reporting no symptoms during his Covid-19 self-isolation.

The midfielder came into close contact with a positive test and was forced to miss 10 days of training but Ian Evatt believes he will be able to keep his fitness levels up at home and re-join the group for this weekend.

“It is looking like he has missed it, fingers-crossed,” said Evatt. “And that’s great news.

“He (Lee) will be available for Saturday but because he’s self-isolating he can only train in his house. Luckily for us Kieran has had a pretty good career so I think he’s got an east wing with a couple of treadmills and bikes. It shouldn’t interfere with his training schedule.

“Other than that we don’t have any injury issues to report.

“It was unfortunate the game was off on Saturday but we trained really well, did an 11v 11 murderball session, which was great for the lads.

“The quality of the game was exceptional, I was able to pick two sides and they were pretty equal. It was a really good competitive game, which is great to see.”

Lee will miss Tuesday night’s home game against Morecambe along with another un-named player but Wanderers otherwise have no new injury issues from the squad that travelled to Salford.

Striker Shaun Miller will be back in contention for a place in the squad, with Evatt impressed by the quality of training he has produced since returning from a thigh injury.

“Shaun has been great since he came back to full fitness,” he said. “He gives us a different option up front, where all of a sudden we have competition for places, which hasn’t been the case for most of the season.”
