Cheers mate. Perhaps some Native American wisdom should make its way to Nuts.okocha wrote:Great new avatar, Bonce!

'There's a sucker born every minute' is another but could you really describe Barnum as a Native American with a big N and did he say it anyway? Your old boss might have, Boncey?
Have you bought Saint Marcus' latest literary offering btw?

Not bought it. Nor will I. Might have been handy when we had a coal fire.Ten Bobsworth wrote:

My old boss had a few good sayings though.
"Stupid people do make me lose my temper, and most people are stupid, fortunately for me. It's made it easier for me to make a living".

I can't remember the last time I used a traditional phone box. I think I probably had to 'press button A' or some such nonsense.
I'm more likely to remember the last time I peed in one.

There's one in our town which is used as a "Community Box" (no - not like Nat's) where people can help themselves to free dried/tinned food, books, tampons etc left by do-gooders like me.boltonbonce wrote:https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-61731594

There's a similar one near us, where people leave, or take, books, rather like a mini library.wanderlust wrote:

Just noticed the jar of coffee I bought today has gone up, and there's less in it than usual. I think they call it shrinkflation.

Getting pestered by a bloke that wants to buy my Laurel and Hardy figure. It sits over my desk, and gives me a great feeling of comfort.
He's been after it for years, and has offered me silly money for it, but I'll never sell.
He can't find a similar one online, so he's being a pain in the arse about it.
The rest of the family don't get why I won't part with it, so I'm pretty sure that, when I depart this life, it'll be up the road, pronto.
Any of you lot got anything you'll never part with?
