£500k is the reported fee. This seems cheap in football terms to me.

Dapo Afolayan exit is confirmed as attacker joins St Pauli in £500,000 deal

Dapo Afolayan has completed his move to Bundesliga 2 club St Pauli, Wanderers have confirmed this morning.
The popular forward had been with Bolton for two years and though the fee has officially been declared as undisclosed, sources in Germany claim the final fee to be worth £500,000.
St Pauli had at least two previous bids turned down for the 25-year-old, who had 18 months left on his contract and had signalled his desire to play at a higher level.
Interest from elsewhere in England failed to meet Bolton’s valuation, and it is also understood that a rival League One club also offered to loan Afolayan for the rest of the season.
The sale of Afolayan has divided opinion among Wanderers fans, given he was last season’s top scorer with 14 goals, and the reigning Player of the Year.
But his first team opportunities became less frequent this season after a change in formation, and he was unable to play in his favoured wide left position in attack.
Afolayan featured as a centre forward, number 10 and even briefly as a left wing-back as manager Ian Evatt looked to find him a role.
Before the winter break St Pauli had rarely deviated from a front two in their first 17 games but four January signings could offer their head coach, Fabian Hürzeler, different options as he looks to guide the Hamburg-based club away from the relegation zone.
Afolayan has played abroad before, starting out in Canada as a teenager and training alongside the likes of Jermaine Defoe and Jozy Altidore at Toronto FC before returning to England to study.
Having started as a youth teamer at Chelsea, he moved through the non-league ranks and found success with Solihull Moors, catching the eye of West Ham United’s scouts.
After loan moves with Oldham Athletic and Mansfield Town he signed for Wanderers in January 2021 as part of a cluster of new arrivals which would transform the season, culminating in a last-day promotion at Crawley in which Afolayan scored his first goal for the club.
Evatt was able to sign him on a free transfer the following summer and the 2021/22 campaign in League One proved his most successful to date. He scored nine times in his first 19 games in all competitions and was linked with moves to Fulham and Cardiff City.
After winning the top prize at Bolton’s end-of-season awards Afolayan was again in the headlines, reportedly being eyed up by Rangers as a replacement for Ryan Kent.
No bids were forthcoming and though Afolayan was open to the idea of moving on from Bolton, the feeling was crystalised this season when he started just 10 of the first 20 games in all competitions.
Wanderers have remained competitive in League One and reached the final of the Papa Johns Trophy, in which Afolayan has added six goals across the board.
He was denied a chance to say a proper farewell by a three-game suspension imposed by the Football Association on New Year’s Eve for an elbow on Lincoln City’s Lasse Sorensen, which was not picked up by the match official at the time, but later reported by the opposition.

It seems like the right move for us as a club. Perhaps less so for Dapo himself.

"I'm happy to play for St. Pauli from now on. I think the team's style of play suits me. The talks with club officials convinced me that the club attach great importance to developing their players. I'm looking forward to my new team, a new league and the new challenge."[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I'm not buying it. There is some sort of personal conflict with Ian.
As most would agree Dapo was our best flair player and able to change the game at any given moment. That's an aspect we have lost at the moment.
As for the transfer fee that's an issue I can never understand .....if you look at Manure you have Sancho for 100 million, Dan James a waste of cash - gone .....Anthony looks like a dud also.......I'd take Dapo over all of them for 500k.
So Dapo is seriously telling me that an obscure relegation threatened German second division club is better for his career than staying with us.......bull.
Well it's done now so COYWM.

An absolutely disgraceful sale in my opinion.
Only BWFC would sell their best player for an absolute pittance. Granted, he hasn't been in top form this season but he gets a pass on that seeing as the manager doesn't play him in his proper position - you know, the one that contributed goals and assists last season.
This makes absolutely no sense even if the £500k is reinvested in the team, because £500k buys you absolutely fook all these days. Let's not forget Ken got £6m for Madine. £6m!! And we get £500k for a much better prospect.
Evans out, Sharon out, FV out!

Maybe KA did earn the £525K he didn't actually get.
Most of it went to Deano and £60K was never paid out at all but £6million for Gary Madine and £4m for Zach Clough sounded like good business to me.

Evatt have him match after match after match this season but generally he was below the standard with the odd bit of creativity. He lost possession an awful lot, he gained possession minimally and had less goal involvements than Sadlier.
He didn't suit our game, and we are aiming for promotion. Its a shrewd move to offload players who would struggle in the Championship. We can replace with better.

What a load of shite.
I think there are about 20 players before him if that's your bar. Unless you think Kachunga is going to score 30 goals in the Championship.
Mark my words, within 18 months Dapo will sign for a big club for millions.
