bolton - Bolton Wanderers release statement after Solihull Moors coach 'bricked' 16920090

Yobs threw bricks at a coach carrying fans of Bolton Wanderers' opponents on Saturday.

After Wanderers' 4-0 FA Cup win against Solihull Moors, an away coach departing the Toughsheet Community Stadium was significantly damaged.

The incident took place between 5pm and 5.20pm and fans on the coach have reported that the vehicle was "bricked" and had its "windows smashed".

Wanderers are now working with with Greater Manchester Police to establish the details of what happened and identify those who were involved.

Wanderers chief executive officer Neil Hart said: "To reiterate, we are urging supporters to utilise the dedicated One Wanderers phone number and Safety Officer email to help us identify anti-social behaviour at the Toughsheet Community Stadium.

"As we continue to build a strong Bolton Wanderers with fans and community at its heart, the support of Wanderers throughout the stadium is critical in helping us to put a stop to behaviour that does not represent the values of our club."

Looking ahead to the weekend, the club says it will pay its respects to all those who have lost their lives in conflict at its annual Remembrance fixture at home to Blackpool.

With more than 21,000 tickets already sold for the fixture, they ask all those visiting the stadium at the weekend to act respectfully and appropriately.

Supporters are reminded that Wanderers will continue to take a zero tolerance approach to all forms of anti-social behaviour.

This includes pitch invasions, using pyrotechnics, taking drugs to games, throwing objects or for discriminatory abuse.

The club will issue strong sanctions against anyone found to have committed such an offence.

Supporters or members of the public who were in the vicinity at the time of Saturday’s incident can report information related to the incident by text or WhatsApp to the clubs dedicated One Wanderers line on 07542 850 902 or email safety.officer@bwfc.co.uk.
