bolton - Bristol Rovers waiting on fitness of trio ahead of Bolton clash 17542814

Bristol Rovers could be boosted by a trio of returns for their clash with Wanderers at the Memorial Stadium.

Elkan Baggott, Tristan Crama and Jack Hunt have all made progress on the injury front ahead of the visit of the Whites.

Baggott and Crama missed the recent matches against Port Vale and Shrewsbury due to calf and ankle problems respectively, while Hunt has spent the past month on the sidelines with a hamstring issue.

After the goalless draw against Shrewsbury on Monday, manager Matt Taylor told Bristol Live: "I don’t think Elkan is too far away.

“Tristan I don’t think is too far away either so by the back end of this week, I think they will be training fully and Hunty is in that group.

“It is just how much they will be able to do between now and Saturday in the team environment, but it is great to have options there."

The Gas failed to break the deadlock against Shrewsbury, with Jevani Brown denied by the woodwork four minutes from time.

“(The performance) just lacked a goal, certainly in terms of some of the chances we created,” Taylor insisted.

“We know that we were not at our fluent best over the course of the 90 minutes but we still created some chances that would have made us feel better about ourselves - a little bit of confidence and force the opposition to change.

“Generally, I am pleased with the intent. Obviously, I am wanting more in terms of executing certain moments in the game but from where we have been in the last couple, it is much improved."

He added: “(It was) a step up and a step in the right direction. There are so many things that we can do a lot better.

“But in terms of what we created - and also limiting the opposition to one shot on goal of any note, which I think Jed (Ward) saved towards the end which is an important save.

“They have always got a threat about them, we just needed to make more of those attacking opportunities.”
