I hope he is as Murray would be a great signing. But Nixon has had my hopes up loads of times, only to let me down on most occasions.

Nixons far more accurate than any other journalist, so I tend to believe what he's saying. The problem is some fans expect everything he says to come to fruition, but he's just relaying what he hears from agents and the club so some might not be completely accurate as there are other agendas to fill.
It's also a case of not all of the deals he reports succeed, so fans think he's bullshitting when really we've failed to raise the funds or convince somebody to come. It just needs to be taken with a punch of salt.
