Tees off tomorrow - can't wait.

I'm not a golf fan really but the Ryder Cup as been fantastic theatre over the years and hopefully it will be again this time too.

Anybody else going to be following it?

One of my favourite sporting events even though I don't play the game. I will be glued to the screen for this one.

One of the great sporting events in the world  and long may it continue to entertain, inspire and alight a spark in young kids to dream of achieving glory through sport at the highest level.

Golf has to be one of the most difficult sports to master. There are so many variables and twists and turns. I have a lot of admiration for top golfers because they truly are artists of the sport. The Ryder Cup is steeped in dramatic matches. Even if you don't like golf, the rivalry between the USA and Europe makes it a rivetting spectacle for anyone who enjoys watching sporting endeavour at the highest level.

I thought golf was easy. Then I tried it for myself.
Golfers have my deepest admiration.

I find golf boring to watch in general but must admit I have been getting more into it over the last 12 months or so.

As a sporting spectacle I think it's a great game to watch.

I'll be glued - I love it.

The only downside for me is the fact that whenever golf's on the telly it becomes a royal pain in the arse to walk the dog on the golf course near me because all the "plastic golfers", for want of a better term, come out of the woodwork and you need a tin hat.....

I love the guy's who have all the gear and look the part, but can't play for shit.
There are 2 golf courses and a driving range near where I live, and some of the members dress like refugees from a minstrel show.
UKIP members to a man.(and woman.Saturday only).

I have just remembered the post about famous people you have bumped into and two golfers spring to mind! On holiday in Africa I had an afternoon with Simon Hobday and he fired off a few balls to show how it was done. He described Sevvy as a freak of nature! ( not many will know Simon Hobday )

I saw Lee Westwood stood outside Old Trafford last time Wanderers played them in the Prem. Knowing he was Mansfield born, I approached him for a chat and he admitted supporting United.

I also saw Alan " The Iceman " Warriner from Lancaster outside Old Trafford during a Wanderers game and it turned out he was also a United fan. Sacrilege in my opinion.

I thought we were talking about golf, not the current Wanderers team?

Golf is fun if you're good enough to drag yourself round the course without visiting all the bunkers and bushes. Golfers on the other hand....
