After our fantastic first win of the season against Wolves, we play Sheffield Wednesday.

Sheffield Weds are currently sitting in 19th place with 5 points while Bolton are in 17th with 6 points, both teams are on -3 goal difference.

Sheff Weds last 5 league results:

Burnley 3-1 Sheff Weds
Sheff Weds 1-3 Middlesbrough
Leeds Utd 1-1 Sheff Weds
Sheff Weds 1-1 Reading
Ipswich 2-1 Sheff Weds

Head to Head statistics on both teams are [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Will the team be back to normal for this game with a dull and boring draw or do any of you fancy a Bolton win for this game?

My prediction: Bolton 2-0 Sheff Weds

I agree- we'll win this one- probably only one goal in it as they're both low on quality.
Perhaps 2-1 to us

Ref watch: Peter Bankes to oversee Sheff Wed visit

Peter Bankes will oversee Wanderers’ second home clash in four days as they host Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday night.

The game marks the first time Bankes’ has officiated a Bolton tie, as well as his first ever visit to Macron Stadium, having only taken charge of his maiden Sky Bet Championship tie in January 2015.

Last season he handed out 98 yellow cards and seven red cards from 27 matches last season, while this year he has dished out 24 cautions from his six outings so far.

Barry Cropp and Barry Gordon will run the line, while Jeremy Simpson is the fourth official.

Preview: Bolton v Sheffield Wednesday

SETTING THE SCENE
Bolton Wanderers host Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday night, looking to secure back-to-back wins having recorded their first victory of the season against Wolves last time out.

Enjoying a strong recent record in this fixture, the Whites are unbeaten in their last four meetings with the Owls, while they have last just one of the last ten clashes between the two sides dating back to 1998.

Keen to break that run, Wednesday will be eager to bounce back from successive defeats against Middlesbrough and Burnley as they come into the match winless from their last five league outings.

TEAM NEWS
Neil Danns (concussion) is a doubt for Tuesday night’s game after being knocked unconscious against Wolves on Saturday, while Dorian Dervite has been ruled out with ligament damage.

Darren Pratley (ankle) remains a few weeks away from a return, while Max Clayton (knee) and David Wheater (calf) will first feature for the Under-21s before being considered for first team action.

LAST SHEFF WED XI (v Burnley, L3-1)
Wildsmith, Palmer, Hutchinson, Loovens, Lees, Pudil, Lee, Wallace (Matias 76), Bannan (Lucas Joao 81), Nuhiu, Forestieri.

ONE TO WATCH
Having welcomed former Wanderers’ loanee Adam Le Fondre back to Macron Stadium on Saturday, another familiar face returns to BL6 on Tuesday with Barry Bannan now on the books at Sheffield Wednesday.

The Scotland international spent the second half of last season on loan with Bolton from Crystal Palace, making 16 appearances during his time with the Whites.

Moving to Sheffield Wednesday on a permanent basis last month, Bannan made his debut last weekend in the Owls’ 3-1 defeat away at Burnley.

Never liked Wednesday. Annoying club, annoying fans that can't get over the fact they were a Premier League team twenty years ago. But what's most annoying is they always play well at Bolton even though we always manage to batter them at Hillsborough.

Love to win this one, and if we do, things suddenly look alright at least until Saturday.

Should be a good game as they're good going forward but have been shaky at the back so I'm hoping Madine can finally find his scoring boots and our CBs can keep Matias under control.
"On paper" it's a 0 - 0 for me but I guess anything could happen as there's pressure on both managers - Lennon to get us clear of trouble and Carvalhal to push for promotion.

Predictable given where both teams strengths and weaknesses are currently at. Shame our attack - and especially Madine - couldn't take the next development step and nick it for us.
