Oscar Threlkeld was an unused substitute as Plymouth Argyle beat Exeter City 2-0 to progress in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on Tuesday night.

Facing off at Home Park, Derek Adams' side took a first half lead through Crystal Palace loanee Hiram Boateng, before Craig Tanner sealed their win shortly after the interval.

Next up for Sky Bet League Two leaders Plymouth is an away trip to Notts County on Sunday.
