just managed to get 2 tickets for me and Mrs Pig to see the Stone Roses next year at the Etihad  cheers

I saw them at Heaton Park as well but they are the best band in the world and their debut album is still one of my favourites and a classic

They must be about 60 now.

Move on Norpig, they're one hit wonders at best. 25 years ago.

You're the one going to a gig for a band that haven't been relevant for 20-odd years.

When did they last release an album? Mid-90s?

How many albums did they release? Two?

You're living in the past.

I had to get up at 4.15am this morning to get online for  the UK on-sale time.

Got 2 though so I'm well pleased too.

My sister was born in 1976 and I've got an abiding memory of my Dad holding her in his arms and singing along to "Dance Little Lady Dance" in our living room.

Very eclectic tastes my parents - Zeppelin and The Stones rubbed shoulders with The Carpenters and Tina Charles in their record collection.

I grew up with 2 older sisters. The youngest was into ELO, Styx, Journey etc. and the other was all about The Clash, Lou Reed, Ian Dury etc. Fortunately, I went with the latter.

My Mum was rocking Mary O'Hara and James Galway while my Dad was listening to the those old Bond Themes and Greatest War Movie albums.

Can you get past 15 seconds?

Yes but only just.

I managed 29 seconds but that's only because I used to love those Danny Kaye films when I was a kid and that song brings back happy Christmas memories for me.

(If sung by someone decent and not Max Bygraves that is.)

I've been holding off on taking the dog out because of the heavy rain but you've just forced my hand.

I'd rather deal with the panda.

I remember listening to the radio about posters being placed for the Stone Roses on music shop windows and everyone thought they were going to release a new album, the first for about 20 years, how absolutely piss poor that it is just that they are going to do some tour dates - which basically means they are skint and have not come up with anything new so will do a karaoke set of their old songs to get some cash.
Poor vulnerable people who bought tickets. I'd rather just listen to their CD recorded in their prime. Why pay stupid money to listen to them live 20 years on?
