Just had a message from a mate of mine who is also a ST holder to inform me that we have already sold 11,000 season tickets.

that's more than last year!

apparently, last season we was in the championship, our average crowds were 14,000.

so we only need to sell 3000 more!

Still plenty of time to renew as well. The fixtures are due out on the 18th June apparently.

No, seriously. He has a contact at the club and he is normally spot on. I see no reason for him to make it up.

I've often wondered if the Premiership has been half our problem in terms of attendances.
The novelty can really wear off and maybe some people are just looking forward to a new challenge.

Don't be jealous that RT has an actual mate ITK.

11,000 is surprisingly good, the owner doesn't deserve to have kept so much of the support base after not spending anything for 2 years and not dropping ticket prices after relegation.

Some clubs just fall on their feet when it comes to attendances.
Look at Norwich. The city itself has a population of just over half of Bolton's, but manages to almost sell out its 27,000 capacity stadium every season, even in League One. Why? Because it's the only team in a county that is home to almost a million people. We don't even need to get started on how far away they are from one of the competing giants, so to speak.
The same sort of principle applies to a load of clubs. Newcastle is the only club Tyneside (population 879,996). Ipswich in Suffolk (719,500), Leicester in Leicestershire (955,300) etc.

In fact, there are a lot of people that reside in Bolton, but are geographically closer to Old Trafford than the Reebok.

I repeated this check for our dear friend Hipster. I used the postcode of Aberdeen City Council, but removed Scottish clubs from the results. We're 19th furthest from his home and circle of 2 friends.
