Bolton Wanderers Under-18s were left cursing a last-minute equaliser as they drew away at Ipswich Town on Saturday.

Putting in a dominant display in Suffolk, the young Whites created numerous opportunities but were unable to find a way past the Tractor Boys' defence and goalkeeper.

Alex Samizadeh fired Bolton into a deserved lead after 65 minutes, slotting home confidently after racing onto a Max Allen through-ball.

Soon after the Trotters saw strong shouts for a penalty turned down after Samizadeh was brought down in the box.

Despite not being able to add to their lead, Wanderers looked like they would be walking away with all three points at the clock ticked down.

However, they were eventually made to rue their missed chances as Ipswich struck in the 95th minute to ensure the spoils were shared.

Speaking following the final whistle, head coach David Lee said: "I couldn't have asked anymore of the players. Their worked hard throughout deserved more from the game.

"A 95th minute equaliser has denied us a perfect performance. We totally outplayed and dominated Ipswich, with some excellent phases of play.

"We created several chances only to be denied by good defending and the goalkeeper, before being denied a penalty after taking the lead when Samizadeh was clearly fouled in the box.

"We continued to play well, but then conceded from the last kick of the game after a loose ball fell to an opponent on the edge of the area, with his resulting shot creeping in the bottom corner.

"Overall a productive performance, with the players coming out of the game with great credit."
