I just watched it on i-player and God I was unimpressed. It was really awful, they all sounded so forced and frankly I think the Beeb want shooting for this cock up. They had a chance to completely refresh Top Gear, to make a new show that could entertain in new ways but they bottled it by trying to copy the old show with new faces and it did not work, in fact it failed miserably.

I watched it and thought it was OK. Le Blanc didn't seem to fit the show. Maybe after a few episodes he'll be a better fit. Its obviously not as good as the ones with Clarkson, but that will/may come in time. I'm sure the first series of Top Gear wasn't nowhere near as good as the latter series.

In all honesty it wasn't BUT the chemistry between Rent-A-Gob and Hamster was there from the off and when they later brought in James May that was like the last piece of a jigsaw.

Le Blanc and Evans just don't have that. It looked very forced to me and felt rather awkward when they were trying to 'banter' which never happened between Clarkson and Hammond or later between all three of them. Clarkson once described it as "three middle aged blokes just cocking about and having a good time" and it felt like that to watch. Last night felt like a badly staged, badly written attempt to clone that and it just fell flatter than Bernard Manning at a Bar Mitzvah.

Maybe it will improve in time but for my money Evans is NOT the right guy to try and be "Clarkson v2.0" and that is what he was doing last night.

They are both pathetic emotional reassurances targeted at disempowered runty males that "laddish banter" can compensate for their tiny knobs and that having big toys will offset their insecurity in the presence of potential mates.

They are also identical inasmuch that I won't be watching either version.

I've never understood how Chris Evans has had such a successful career in radio and TV.

The guy obviously had a charisma bypass operation shortly after being born.

That Joey character is just another annoying twat.

This is a programme for small boys who's brains have not fully formed.

Just watching the new Top Gear, quite enjoying it. Seems to have improved a lot from the 1st episode I saw.

No interest in Car programmes but the theme here seems to be Evans is a dick !!
Clarkson now here we do have a paid up member of the nob club, a complete arsehole so anything else must be an improvement.
