But I also liked the Doors. Their first album and L A Woman are both classics.
All about personal taste X I don't get the fuss about Queen, don't like anything Paul Rodgers does don't rate him at all. Love Floyd Genesis Coldplay was into Yes but now don't know why? Would not cross the street to see Led Zep for free but would pay a fortune to see a kinks or who reunion and absolutely find Rush unlistenable. Today's bands only Coldplay do anything for me It would be a pisser for me if they packed up.Yes family are a great live band and I like their albums I bought the whole lot in one go.

When I was a lad my cousin had music in her doll's house.
The Doors and Zeppelin were marvellous bands with every member of each band top musicians. Today I find that very difficult to see in modern day bands, perhaps with the exception of Pearl Jam, and they've being going for a lifetime!

Family were a brilliant band. Saw them at the Free Trade Hall in about 1970. Here's the brilliant "Weaver's Answer" in all it's raw live glory from that period.

Free Trade Hall was a great venue. Saw Family about three or four times there, Tony Ashton was on keys the last time and they actually did Resurrection Shuffle.

Just read this on Wikipedia:

In September 2012 the band announced a one-off reunion gig on 2 February 2013 at the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire, London featuring Roger Chapman, Poli Palmer, Rob Townsend and Jim Cregan[25] In fact the band played two nights, Friday and Saturday, to sell out audiences. Setlist on Saturday: Top of the Hill, Drowned in Wine, Holding the Compass, Part of the Load, Ready to Go, Crinkly Grin, Burning Bridges, No Mule's Fool, Sat'dy Barfly, Between Blue and Me, Hung Up Down, Burlesque, In My Own Time. Encore 1: Weaver's Answer; Encore 2: My Friend the Sun, Sweet Desiree. Roger Chapman paid warm tributes to absent band members Rick Grech, Tony Ashton, Jim King, John Weider, John Wetton and Charlie Whitney whom he invited to come back (from Greece) to enjoy the English rain...a celebratory concert, rich in memories for all, and introduced by long time friend of the band and local Leicester hero, the former footballer Frank Worthington.

Beat me to it xmiles! Just going to reference the same. Interesting read. I seem to remember RC collaborating with Mike Old field and the song Shadow on the Wall.
Saw King Crimson with John Wetton on bass at FTH ala Larks Tongues and Red days. They were fucking loud at that time!!

Professor Peart has few equals but Matt Cameron has the enviable/uneviable task of being in the traps for both Soundgarden and Pearl Jam!!
