Tough game this one, Matt Taylor nailed on to score, I'd be happy with a point.

1-1.

agreed i'd also go 1-1 for this one, we need to improve a lot on our last away performance at Peterborough, Zach to get our goal again

Northampton ain't bad but again it'll come down to what we do and our performances have slipped a bit. If we don't improve, we'll lose but I'm hoping for a better showing to keep in touch with the leaders so I'm hoping we win 1 - 2.

Going on Saturday, so Parky it is not OK to lose. Not been in great form recently Northampton so am optimistic about getting a win or a least a point, Revell isn't bad at this level so defensively we need to be on the ball. Wanderers by the odd goal, Madine.

Love your optimism, but really?

Preview: Five talking points ahead of Northampton Town v Bolton Wanderers

1. First trip to Sixfields

Having not locked horns with Northampton Town in league football since February 1990, Saturday's game marks Wanderers' first ever visit to Sixfields Stadium.

The Whites have already visited two new grounds so far this season, recording victories over both AFC Wimbledon and Bristol Rovers.

Can they make it three from three on Saturday?

2. Big away following
Bolton are set to be backed by yet another big away following this weekend.

The Trotters were handed an initial allocation of 944 tickets for the game, with well over 800 sold by Tuesday afternoon.

Having been at their vocal best up and down the country so far this season, the Club's travelling supporters will be expected to provide more of the same come 3pm on Saturday!

3. Eight wins from nine?
Wanderers come into Saturday's clash with Northampton having won seven of their last eight league outings.

Sitting third in Sky Bet League One as a result, Phil Parkinson has spoken of his desire for the Whites to maintain this form for as long as possible as they continue to forge a promotion push.

With eyes firmly set on climbing the table even more, will Bolton be able to make it eight wins from nine this weekend?

4. Ben Alnwick
With Mark Howard currently sidelined because of injury, Ben Alnwick has grabbed his opportunity with both hands in recent weeks.

The shot-stopper has been in impressive form, keeping successive clean sheets in the Trotters' back-to-back home victories over Millwall and Coventry City.

Yet to concede at Macron Stadium, Alnwick is yet to be beaten from open play in games he's started for Wanderers.

And with the Whites boasting the best defence in the division having conceded just 12 goals all year, will Alnwick be able to make it three clean sheets in a row on Saturday?

5. An away win
While meetings between these two sides are rare occurances, history has often smiled on the away side when Bolton face the Cobblers.

Clashing 11 times in total, each team has won five games each with the Trotters emerging 2-0 victors the last time they visited Northampton back in February 1990.

The last four ties have all ended in away wins, while Town can only boast two home successes over Wanderers to their name.

More of the same on Saturday please, Whites!

Ref watch: Darren Deadman to run the rule over Northampton Town trip

Darren Deadman will officiate Wanderers’ trip to Northampton Town on Saturday.

An experienced Football League official, the Cambridgeshire-based referee ran the rule over his first Championship fixture back in January 2006.

In total he has taken charge of six Bolton games in the past with the Whites winning four and drawing one – this season's away victory over Millwall last month his most recent Trotters outing.

Mr Deadman has overseen 20 games so far this season, dishing out 72 yellow cards and three red cards.

Stephen Finch and Mark Griffiths will run the line, while Ian Smedley is the fourth official.

Tinned Toms - You know it makes sense!

Looking at Northamptons recent form gives reason for optimism. I initially thought draw but I reckon we can nick this if we can avoid a performance like the one at Peterborough.
