It was.

Carried off on a stretcher too.

One chance left for her.

Can she do it?

Come on Elise!

Great Britain's Lizzy Yarnold defended her Winter Olympic title with a gold medal in the women's skeleton as team-mate Laura Deas claimed bronze.

I thought she'd struggle after her second run but fair play to the woman. And to Laura Deas, another athlete plucked from a different discipline (equestrianism in her case) Great final runs from both.

I thought the slow-mo showed Elise Christie was again taken out, although at the end of the race she was penalised by the judges.

You needed to see the whole incident.  If you only saw the end bit of it, it does indeed look as though the Chinese girl takes her out but if you wind back a bit earlier it shows Elise trying to force her way in front and cause her to become unbalance and end up tripping Elise up.

Only the top two went through and Elise and the Chinese girl were battling for second place on the last turn.

I've had it with the BBC. Not satisfied with commentating on events, and,I might add, with no small amount of jingoistic bias,we have to put up with the self serving pricks being filmed getting excited about a medal.
Get over yourselves. The BBC has always been blessed with people behind the mike of the highest standards, far too many to name, but this present crop are dire.
And the sooner they get rid of Pansy Potter, the better. She seems to have taken over the BBC at every level.

Did anyone see the dead heat in the two man bob? Unbelievable.

Have to admit that I'm getting quite hooked on the Scotland GB curling games.

Poor Elise disqualified.

Unfairly.

She says she will be back at the next Olympics in 2022.

She's a fighter that lass.

She's the new Eddie The Eagle.

You'd think she'd won 6 golds the way the media are portraying her.

The tragedy of the situation is that she certainly had the ability to have won all six - she's been a multiple (and still current) world champion between the two Olympics.

She's certainly had some extreme decisions go against her, many looking very harsh if not downright wrong in most people's eyes.

Her pain and upset is clear and I for one hopes she returns and get's the gold she deserves one day.

Surely the main object of speed skating is to avoid falling over?

It's like praising Darren Pratley for scoring an own goal.
