The skilful summer signing has been waiting for his chance after picking up a hip injury in pre-season but now looks set to make his Bolton debut at Elland Road.

Oztumer returned to full training a fortnight ago and was an unused substitute in the 2-2 draw with Bristol City at the weekend.

Marc Wilson and Jack Hobbs are also set to make their first start for the club as Parkinson looks to get every one of his squad up to speed.

“Most managers and clubs will make changes at this stage of the competition,” said the Wanderers boss. “But they are not changes to disrespect the competition by any stretch of the imagination.

“It will be about utilising the squad. From our point of view we have a Saturday-Wednesday-Saturday after this, and we have to make sure there are players who get up to speed and who are ready for that week.

“When three games in seven days come along we’ll be changing the team around.”

Parkinson is unlikely to risk Sammy Ameobi, who is still struggling to overcome a bruised hip sustained in the opening day victory over West Brom. The manager hopes, however, to have his winger up and running again by the weekend when his side travel to face Reading.

“We’ve got to get Sammy fit. That’s the key in the next few days.

“We’ve tried to take some of the swelling away with an injection and hopefully that will work.

“We’ll pick the team carefully at Leeds on Tuesday night. There are players who need to get out there like Marc Wilson and Jack Hobbs, in particular. We need them fit because they have got real quality.

“Other players who also need minutes will get a game.”

Wanderers added Jonathan Grounds to the squad on a season-long loan from Birmingham City yesterday and also confirmed deals for Under-23s, Yoan Zouma and Marcus Wood.

Need to get this lad fit and in the team, he could make a big difference in that attacking midfield role for us.
