The Wanderers U18s side earned their second win of the 2018/19, continuing their 100% home record with another victory, this time against Crystal Palace.

Nicky Spooner's side began the game brightly and showed attacking intent from the very first whistle. The early pressure applied on Palace almost paid off immediately with Connell twice going close with attempts from distance.

Twenty minutes in, the Palace stopper had to be at his best to pull off an excellent save which kept Brown's effort out.

Against the run of play, the visitors took the lead with their only shot on goal throughout the whole first half and it was an impressive strike which found the net from range.

In the second half, Wanderers continued to apply the pressure on Palace, in search for an equaliser and just five minutes into the second half they found one. Brown was on target with his fourth goal of the season.

Wanderers bossed proceedings for the majority of the game following the leveller, and Darcy put Spooner's men ahead for the first time in the game with just fifteen minutes left on the clock. Receiving the ball out wide, the youngster produced a brilliant chip over the goalkeeper.

The home side just had to hold on for the last section of the game, in search of a second league win of the season. The youngster went one better and sealed the victory with a third goal before the end through substitute, Sterling.

Wanderers XI: Alexander, Senior, Preston, Graham, Osigwe, Boon, King-Harmes, Connell, Brown, Darcy, Barnes.

Substitutes: Edmondson, Comber, Richards, Sterling, White.
