Players and senior football staff at Bolton Wanderers have NOT been paid their overdue wage for February, The Bolton News understands.

Reports this morning claimed that all full-time staff, including Phil Parkinson and his squad, had been compensated with the money they were owed on February 1.

But while admin staff have now been given their salary, allowing Saturday’s game against Millwall to go ahead, those reporting to the training ground this morning are still waiting.

Players are now weighing up their options after being left without money once again and could now make a formal complaint to the EFL. They are also investigating their contractual options with the players’ union, the PFA.

Wanderers face Millwall tomorrow in a crucial game at the foot of the Championship but the build-up has been blighted by distraction.

The training ground at Lostock was closed on Monday because there was no food, supplies or fuel, and the game itself was placed under jeopardy when Bolton Council confirmed it was considering issuing a prohibition order because of a fear for spectator safety.

Part-time and full-time employees were paid to guarantee the council would not tear up the stadium’s safety certificate but the mood inside the dressing room is one of frustration.
