Wanderers have three doubts on the eve of their home clash with Bristol Rovers.

Jason Lowe, Joe Dodoo and Dennis Politic have missed training this week through illness with Keith Hill unsure if they will be fit enough to make his starting line-up.

Will Buckley, who was re-signed on a short-term deal today, goes straight into the squad and Joe Bunney, who had been scheduled to play for the Under-23s at Crewe, could be used on the bench.

Hill admits he may have to patch up his side once again.

“Things don’t look that great,” he said. “People said before the last game that there had been some sort of argument between me and Daryl Murphy but there wasn’t – it was a personal issue he had to tend to.

“The truth is that we have had illnesses, players not been able to train because they have been injured. Players may not be available. The inclusion of those (ill) players are 70-30 or 60-40 in some cases “It’s difficult but it’s a fighting opportunity.”

Jack Hobbs and Ali Crawford continue their rehab and will not be available for selection, although Hill is optimistic that Hobbs could return to action in the near future.

“They have both been really serious misses on the training pitch and within the culture of what we are trying to create. I was dependent on them both and lost them to long-term injury and with Jack, now he’s back on the training pitch, as soon as he starts making himself available to football training he will have to be included.

“I can’t afford to play Jack in two or three Under-23s games, he’s going to have to get up to speed playing first team football.

“As soon as he’s got a week’s training and maybe 45 minutes of an Under-23s game he’ll be considered to play. I know he wasn’t signed by me but he’s been a real integral part of what I am trying to plan with respect to a successful team.”
