I remember Ruth from the pre-Beeching days. Wherever the Wanderers were playing, you'd always see Ruth on the train in the late 50's and early 60s. Hope she recovers fully and quickly.

Looking through the Eddie Davies photo archive, I came across this article and photo:

I still find it hard to believe that Eddie didn't know that 'Holdsworth's' £5m was only £4m and due for repayment before the end of the month. From what I have learned about him, it doesn't seem at all Eddie-like.

Recent events strongly suggest that the other £2.5m was not the 'Sports Shield consortium' but Eddie himself.

I was a ball boy back in the sixties, in those days autographs and programmes were very collectable, Ruth used to sell an amazing range of programmes outside the ground, a true superfan.
