Those of you on the Chatbox last night will know Martin has his audition for 'Tipping Point' sometime today. Hopefully it went well for him.

Have you ever been on TV or had an audition for a TV programme? Obviously I've been on TV plenty of times, many say I was born for TV with these looks, but it hasn't always gone to plan.

When I was a very young person I went to Ewood to watch Wanderers play Rovers with some friends. Positioned on the front row, I couldn't help jumping up from my seat and giving Alan Shearer the v-sign when he celebrated scoring a goal in front of the Bolton away end. Sadly it was caught by the TV cameras and my parents were mortified by my actions. I was confined to my room for a week.

No slipper or spreadsheet stories please.

More radio and print than telly but I recorded a BBC news interview at the Milbank studio about 10 years ago and they let me choose the background picture so naturally I chose the HoC one to please my mum who was still alive at the time. Plus the actual building was across the road so it made sense to me. Absolutely flawless but the interviewer in the Manchester studio f***** up her questions 4 times in a row and by the time we had a reasonable take, some twat had changed the background to the blue sky with fluffy clouds one - I was gutted....but my mum recorded it and played it to death anyway. Reckon she was a bit of a snob on the quiet as she never played the construction site interviews when our South African rellies came to visit her.

It went well (I think) answered all the questions easily, had to do a 90 second speech into a camera, so the waiting game starts now to see if I was successful.
