As a result of the ongoing concerns posed the by Coronavirus outbreak and following specific medical advice, the Fair Play handshake between players and match officials will not take place at Bolton Wanderers' matches until further notice.

Whilst the Government guidance does remain unchanged, a decision has been taken due to the way in which the Covid-19 virus can be transmitted through a handshake

The EFL remains in regular dialogue with the Government regarding the ongoing concerns posed by the coronavirus and is being appraised on a regular basis of developments that could potentially impact Bolton Wanderers and the Competitions we participate in.

At the current time, the advice remains unchanged and our game against A.F.C. Wimbledon will continue as normal this weekend with all EFL Clubs being advised to take appropriate prevention measures as per the Government guidance.

The EFL will continue to provide Bolton Wanderers with updates and advice as it is issued to ensure we have all the relevant up-to-date information and we will advise our supporters accordingly.

These matters are subject to constant change and we will update as appropriate.

Good to see you back on Nuts Nat.

I was beginning to think you had caught this so called flu and had been whisked away to quarantine in London! Very Happy

A version of flu called Spanish Influenza wiped out a huge proportion of the European population Nat. If anything the coronavirus is probably MORE dangerous due to the ease with which it's transmitted and the damage it does to the human immune system. It really does weaken the body's defences very seriously and while by itself it might not be fatal it leaves the sufferer wide open to all sorts of other infections etc. In that respect it's similar to HIV but much, much faster in its effects.
