MK Dons boss Liam Manning isn't getting carried away ahead of Wanderers clash 13508009

MK Dons boss Liam Manning isn’t getting carried away ahead of Saturday’s clash with Wanderers.

Manning’s men recorded a 2-0 victory at Charlton on Tuesday night thanks to goals from Tennai Watson and Kaine Kesler-Hayden either side of half-time.

The Dons are now unbeaten in their last nine matches on the road - one short of a club record.

But Manning insists they are keeping their feet firmly on the ground as they prepare to welcome the Whites to Stadium MK.

"To be honest, whether I'm seen as negative, for me it's game to game. I think the biggest thing is just aim to Bolton. Let's go for the weekend,” said the Dons chief.

"I think it's the approach we've had all season to keep chipping away week to week and if records get broken, so be it.

"But for me it's not an extra motivation or anything like that. I think it's turn up on Saturday and be ready to go, build on tonight, learn, get better and that for me is probably the biggest focus."

Manning’s men are currently third in the League One table - nine points behind leaders Rotherham despite having played an extra game.

The Dons are unbeaten in their last seven matches in total, with their last defeat coming against Doncaster over a month ago.

“You’ve to got enjoy the moment and you’ve got to be happy after wins but, at the same time, the game is done,” added Watson.

“We’ve got to be ready for Bolton – it’s all eyes on that.”
