Ian Evatt issues update ahead of Morecambe clash 13545735

Ian Evatt says Wanderers will assess Kyle Dempsey ahead of Tuesday night’s clash with Morecambe at the UniBol.

The midfielder missed last weekend’s win at Gillingham through illness and has also been dealing with a groin issue.

Evatt also revealed that Gethin Jones remains absent after being given time off following the death of his mother.

“Kyle is back in. The illness has now subsided but we don’t know about his groin yet,” said the Bolton boss.

“We’re going to check him this morning and try to make sure he’s 100 per cent before we take any risks.

“Everyone else is fine apart from obviously Gethin, who is still away.”

Evatt also says Elias Kachunga is making good progress and could feature against Plymouth at the weekend, but tomorrow’s game comes too soon for the former Huddersfield man.

He added: “Kacha has got a good chance to be involved on Saturday if I see the things that I saw on Thursday and Friday.

“Kacha is a senior player now, he’s nearly 30 so he knows his body better than anyone.

“We’ll have an honest and open discussion. We’ll see where he is at and where he feels he is at, and then make decisions from that.”

The Bolton boss also gave an update on Lloyd Isgrove, who hasn’t featured since November after suffering a torn hamstring.

“He’s doing really well. He’s back running," said Evatt. "He’s probably two to three weeks behind Kacha but I would think by the end of the month he’ll be back in with the group.
