bradley - EFL pundit praises Charles and Bradley after Bolton overcome Exeter 16276928

EFL pundit Sam Parkin reckons Wanderers are getting back to their best following the 2-0 win against Exeter City.

Conor Bradley and Dion Charles were both on target for the Whites during a dominant opening 45 minutes.

Charles also hit the woodwork on two separate occasions, while Bradley missed a glorious chance for a second.

The visitors had a bit more joy after the break but failed to carve out many opportunities against a stubborn Bolton defence.

The result saw Ian Evatt’s men maintain their spot in the play-off places heading into the busy Christmas period.

Former Swindon striker Parkin highlighted Wanderers’ defensive resilience this season, having conceded less than a goal per game in the league.

He also singled out the two goalscorers for praise and believes Northern Ireland international Charles is “a very good striker at this level”.

Speaking as a pundit on the EFL highlights show, he said: “Statistically they were right up there in terms of their defensive shape at the start of the season, and a clean sheet today.

“I think (they are) getting back to where they were. Dion Charles is a very good striker at this level. He is scoring frequently now.

“Conor Bradley on loan from Liverpool, seven goal involvements now for him. They often look to free him up.

“And nice for Bolton to be comfortable in the lead rather than coming back to losing positions to take points, which has become common practice in the last few weeks.”

The programme also gave a special mention to the Whites’ recent carol concert, which saw around 10,000 people in attendance at the University of Bolton Stadium to raise money for several charities in the local community.
