Anyone see Owen Coyle on Goals on Sunday?

He ended the show with his now infamous catchphrase: "I'm the best manager I've ever been!"

I couldn't help but think to myself that OC is actually Gary Megson in disguise.

He once again spoke highly of the whole Bolton setup and it being a great club - I like him for this

I don't think he's a vindictive sort of chap, just slightly incompetent.

It's a pity they didn't ask him what was the score with Sordell.

This only goes to show what a total idiot Coyle is. He got us relegated and made some awful decisions about buying and retaining players, yet thinks he is a good manager. I actually think even Megson is more self aware than OC.

I also find it significant that Coyle is still unemployed.

He did say that he felt he wasn't ready to manage a team at this moment in time. As to what that actually means, I don't know. As part of his "deal" to leave was there a clause saying he couldn't manage a team for 12 months????

Interestingly he also stated that he has never had to apply for a managerial role and that chairmen and clubs have gone to him directly - is this actually true???

Obviously not true, he's still sat on his arse, doing nothing.

Absolute bollocks Chris!

I've even posted you this Nixon link before to support you when Azreal said you knew nothing of the Coyle 'sacking' by Eddie Davies over Gartside's head!

Coyle is free to walk straight into a new gig after his Bolton sacking.

The fired Trotters manager is eager to make a rapid return to the touchline!

It was a question I posed and not a statement, so thanks for the reply, Sluffy!

affraid

But saying that do we actually know what in his his release contract - as you say we are only taking the word of Nixon. If there was such a clause, do you not think it would be there and Coyle wouldn't be allowed to mention it? I know I have seen such clauses in release contracts before now.

But he did say he wasn't ready to go back into management just yet!

Coyle would know what his terms of leaving the club were obviously.

It's up to people if they want to believe or not that Nixon, who is a known friend of Coyle's does too. If you do then the terms are that he could work elsewhere straight away - indeed he has made it known he wanted the Scotland job - so much for not being ready to manage a team for 12 months!

You were more than happy to shoot Azreal down with this very article, so I'm surprised you seem to doubt it now!

If you do believe Nixon is familiar with Coyle's private life, then I guess you would accept his word too that Coyle turned down the Blackpool job before Appleton was appointed because he did not want to work with Oysten.

Either way it seems no 'big' clubs have phoned Owen up since he left us up the creek - and I sincerely doubt they ever will after his clueless and deluded spell with us.

I am not doubting anything, but I knew about Coyle being given the push not from the press but for someone on the inside that was actually surprised at the dispute between Davies and Gartside more than Coyle's sacking!

But we honestly do not know what was in the release contract and what can be said about it or not!

But as I said it was question posed, but there again if Natasha or BDP had posed it it more than likely wouldn't have received the same attention!

Probably wouldn't have - but then again I've not previously sent them the article for them to gladly use to prove their point on another forum as I have for you.

I doubt either of those would have forgotten the content either.
