I'm no fan of Andrew Mitchell but it does look like he was stitched up by the Met.

Did you read the report?

Why didn't they check the CCTV a lot sooner ? There must be hundreds of bloody CCTV cameras around Downing Street and don't tell me they don't record sound.

This whole business could have been cleared up the same day and the CCTV would have shown which party was telling the truth. If Mitchell was stitched up then why did he resign ?

I'm guessing he resigned because of political pressure from Cameron. The police log was apparently backed by a member of the public. We now know the police log contains several bare faced lies and the member of the public was a police officer who wasn't even present.

Plus of course, although he has always denied it, Mitchell is exactly the sort of Tory we all imagine would use a word like pleb.

The CCTV would have shown the entire sequence of events so why has it only been shown now ? Summat stinks about this whole business.

We can eavesdrop on dodgy dervishes hiding out in caves from satellites in space but the CCTV around Downing Street doesn't record sound ? Absolute total and utter bollocks.
