In the unlikely (but not impossible) event of BWFC ever going out of business, what would happen to the Reebok?

Well, in Darlington, the 25,000 capacity stadium left by the now defunct Darlington F.C. has been bought by the local Rugby Union team!

Darlington Mowden Park's previous home had a capacity of just 250. Quite the step up!

Looks like a former football town will be soon be a northern Rugby Union hotbed. I don't think there's been one of those since the schism that gave birth to Rugby League.

It had a net book value of £34m in the last set of accounts.
Unfortunately these things are only worth what somebody is willing to pay for them, and it's difficult to imagine who'd want to buy it for the stadium itself. Sale Sharks have played there a few times, but you can't imagine them wanting or needing a multimillion pound complex in a different county on a permanent basis.

I always thought (and feared) Sale Sharks would end up ground sharing with us one day after that "Rugby at the Reebok" experiment. However, they've left Stockport's ground now and are thankfully sharing Salford City Reds new stadium.

We passed the white elephant at Darlington when we played Boro away. I'm glad someone has found a new home.
